This page represents a fraction of the activities that are carried out in this department. We are very proud of the Evangelism Department and the love, the care and the work that goes on in it. We take our work seriously and are often seen going about the tasks that the Master has given us to do. We want you to know that we are soldiers on the battlefield for the Lord.
Mission I is one of the oldest auxiliaries of our church. The objective of this group is the same today as it was in the beginning, to seek lost souls and point them to Christ, and to help the needy with soul winning as the chief objective. The newest and most beautiful addition to Mission I is the “Flower Ministry”. The objective of this group is to beautify the sanctuary with plants and appropriate decorations in keeping with the specific season or holiday. Young Adult Organization
The mission of this organization is to bridge the gap between adolescent youth and mature Christian adults. This program is designed to enlist all young people in a renewed commitment to a fuller knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The membership is composed of members whose ages range from 18 to 30. Meetings are held every Monday night at 7:00 pm. Each month on the third Friday, the group has an outreach and visits someone who is sick and shut-in. During this visit they spread the Love and Spirit of Christ. In November, each year the Young Adults deliver Thanksgiving food baskets filled with can goods and a turkey for the less fortunate. The organization is full of young people who bin together and are willing to give time to a definite study of God’s Kingdom. Women’s Uplift Women’s Uplift meets every Monday at 7:00 pm. Their monthly outreach is the Second Saturday of each month. This group donates school supplies to our Youth Department at the beginning of each school year. The members age range is 31 & up. Sunday School The Mt. Canaan Sunday School is striving to get all of its members to attend Sunday school in a regular basis. Our Sunday school consists of 10 different classes ranging from toddlers to adults. Our purpose and goals are to spread and teach God’s words to everybody throughout our church and community. The Home & Extension
Brotherhood The Brotherhood Department is comprised of all men of the church ages 30 and up. One of their projects is Men’s Day held in July of each year. This day is filled with many activities and distinguished speakers from the church family and surrounding areas. The Brother hood also sponsors the “Gents” of Mt. Canaan. These are gentlemen in our congregation who are 65 years plus. They are highly recognized as an extremely valuable source of wisdom and knowledge. They are honored on Men’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine’s Day. Their outreach is being responsible for visiting the brothers who are unable to attend church services. They meet every Monday night at 7:00 pm. Mission II
The Mission II Auxiliary is an organization of Christian women who come together and meet once a week on Monday nights from 7-8 pm. Any adult woman between the age of 30 and up can be apart of this organization. Our purpose for meeting is to strategize ways to reach out to the unsaved, become aware of the needs and welfare of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and reach out to our neighborhood and community in order to enjoy a deeper spiritual life. Our Theme: PUSH (Pray until something happens) Mission Statement: To unite a group of Christian women together to stimulate growth in witnessing and working in church, home and community. Missionary education is provided to cultivate a Christ like concern for all people. Motto: Psalms 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in the sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. |
